Best places to eat and drink in Phoenix, AZ?

I am going there for spring training baseball in March. I am staying in Tempe. I know Mill Ave is the place to be, but which bars are the best? Also what are some good restaurants in this area (preferably Mexican and under $20 a plate)? Any other advice on places to go to for a mid 20s guy would be great. Thanks

El Taco Tote
1050 S Country Club Dr
Mesa, AZ 85210

If you don't mind driving to Central Phoenix, goto:

Carolina's Mexican Food
1202 E Mohave St,
Phoenix, AZ 85034

Both are really good and authentic.

There is a great Mexican restaurant in Mesa (next to Tempe) called Rosa's. It is on Mesa Dr. and about Brown Rd. It is affordable and they have the BEST shrimp tacos (if you like shrimp).

There is also Garcia's in Tempe on Rural Rd. between the US60 and Baseline. They have really great enchiladas and bean dip.

For the Mill Ave. scene I like to go to...
The Cue Club - mellow and chill (Mill Ave. and 6th St.)
Four Peaks Brewery - brew their own and have a great selection of beers (University Dr. and Rural Rd. *ish* it's behind the Phoenix Rock Gym on 8th)
Rula Bula - great selection of beers and good food (Mill Ave. and 4th St.)
Owl's Nest - best view from roof top and fun atmosphere (Mill Ave. and 5th St.)

There is a Pancho's on Dobson and Southern area that is in the east valley. The Landing in Mesa is great. Macayo's or Garcia's are great as well.

The Mexican food here in Arizona is not that great. I'm from New Mexico where the Mexican food is the best. The 2 best Mexican Restaurants I have found here are:

#1: Si Senors
http://www.sisenorrestaurants.com/azloca...

#2:Serrano's
http://www.serranosaz.com/html/serranos/...

Si Senors is the only Mexican restaurant that I know of here that gives you a free Sopapia for desert (this is tradition in New Mexico to get a free Sopapia for desert)

Okay best Mexican food, I am Mexican and here's a tip, if Mexicans are eating at a Mexican food restaurant then it's probably real good. It's called Poncho's Mexican Food, located 7202 S Central Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85042
It's kinda in a scary part of town but my family and I have eaten there for years and I live on the far north/west side of the valley and I make the effort and the trip to eat there. You won't be disappointed!

Can't tell you much about the bars... but near Mill Ave is a Mexican restaurant called Macayo's. It is very good and not too expensive. Also try My Big Fat Greek Restaurant on Mill Ave. They've also got a Quizno's and Fatburger for fast food. There are bars everywhere. It is RIGHT by ASU. There is one that has stairs that go down into the ground like a subway entrance in NY. There are TONS of college kids in the area--almost 60,000. They also have some really cute shopping on Mill Ave, but I realize you are a guy and have way better things to do. Also... here's some of our TV channels for most basic cable networks.
NBC 12
ABC 15
FOX 10
CBS 5
MTV 29
MTV2 31
VH1 30
