How can I find the square miles of a specific area?

Call the city planners office they will tell you.

If you are looking for Phoenix, Phoenix covers more than 516 square miles.

You could lookup the area you need website and see if any ifo is listed or try the Census.

Hi Snuffy-

If you have a paper map or a computer map it will probably have a legend on it. The legend will show the scale of the map. Just measure the width and length of the area on the map and multiply the two numbers together.

For example if your map says 1"= 1 mile, then if the area you want to measure is 3 inches wide by 4 inches long then the square miles of the selected area would be 3 x 4= 12 SQM.
