Moving out of Ohio before I kill myself. Peoria, anyone?

I can鈥檛 stand the cold any longer. I鈥檝e been talking about moving to Arizona for years, and I鈥檓 finally going to do it. I鈥檝e visited the Phoenix area several times and I know it鈥檚 supposed to be my home. But it鈥檚 hard to research neighborhoods from clear across the country. I have been looking at info online and from what I鈥檝e found, it looks like Peoria is a nice little town. Does anyone out there live in Peoria? Or know about it? I鈥檇 appreciate any info you can give me. Thanks!

I know a few people from Ohio that live in Peoria, and they love it here. It depends on what you like to do, and how you like to live. If you like upscale dinning and the upscale nightlife, then Scottsdale is more for you. If you like the rowdy younger college scene, then Tempe is the place. Peoria has a lot to offer, and it's safe here. Glendale is right next to Peoria, and it's home to this weekend's Super Bowl. The Peoria Sports complex hosts spring training and the Arrowhead Town Center has a whole lot of restaurants and shops. The 101 Freeway goes through Peoria, so it's easy to hop on the freeway in any direction. Lake Pleasant is only minutes away. The only draw back, and I'll get heat for this, there's too many Christians here! they are nice people, but a little too uptight.

Peoria is and OKAY city. The housing isn't to bad. I live in the East valley and love it.

Peoria is awesome for everything except the speeding nazis :) The Peoria police like to stop anyone for anything over 5 over. Or at least they used to. But neighborhoods are nice, very middle class, safe (as safe as any suburb of a major metro area can be), good schools, close shopping, close to sporting events and highways, etc.

Pretty mucht he whole Phoenix area is weird in that everything is spotty. You can have a great area two blocks from a bad one. And Visa Versa. When you start looking at a specific area, you really have to come to see it for yourself to know how comfortable you would be there.

peoria is a nice little town love it my daughter lives there nicest people
