Can someone tell me is this apartment complex is in a Good part of Phoenix?

3230 E Roosevelt St
Phoenix, AZ 85008

Go to http://apartmentratings.com to see what people say about it. You can also call the Phoenix Police and ask for crime stats.

It can get a little cracky around that area. I would try farther east. Around 52nd St and Van Buren there are a couple of places that aren't too bad and the area is quieter.

It also depends on your budget. The area I mentioned above is around $650ish a month for a one bedroom. If you're looking for something nicer, I would try central-to-north scottsdale.

I lived in that area as a child and it wasn't bad then, but now it's a little sketchy.
You might want to look around a bit more, there are tons of apartments in Phoenix. If you need to be in that general area, check the apts. around 36th street and McDowell, cost more so they might have less rif raf in them.
Phoenix is a big city with lots of crime! Ask around and go back and look at the area at night. The leasing agents at the apartment complexes are just trying to fill vacancies and most don't live in the complex, so don't let them sweet talk you into signing until you have seen the place when everyone is home. I like to go back on the weekends to see how it is, noise, kids, husbands screaming at the wife, crack heads hanging out, etc.... After all it is where you want to live.
Best of luck!

While my answer is not direct to your question, I do have a suggestion. Navy families do a lot of moving! We have found Equity Apartments to be the best.Uniform in layout and management, safe, clean, pride of ownership, and are nation wide. We are moving to an Equity in Chandler, Az in May . We are in an Equity apartment in San Diego and have been here for four great years! Good luck to you!

It looks like there are some very nice properties in the area, I put in the zip code below and the results are here. Good luck in your search.

you might want to reconsider mabey east mesa, Apache juntion, peoria, glendale or any where other than down town Phoenix

I wouldn't live there! I suggest going farther East and a little North. Go up as far as Thomas Rd.

I don't think so. I know they have been doing a lot of rebuilding throughout that whole area, but it's still scetchy. I agree with the other answerers, either go further East or further North!!

My mother would never let me live in that area.

And I would never let my child (if I had one) live there either.

Does that give you a better idea??

That鈥檚 a good question and you will get varied responses from who you ask. Someone who lives in one of the Phoenix suburbs who is clueless about the revamping of downtown would tell you to stay out of that area completely. This is basically downtown Phoenix which means the area changes drastically from block to block. There are collections of half million dollar condos, charming old historic houses, nice apartment complexes, and sketchy homes/ apartments you would not want to visit.

Basically, in this part of town as any other part of central Phoenix, AZ, you will need to visit to see for sure. Central and downtown Phoenix offers some great places to live- charming cottages, modern condos and it also has some places that you would not want to live.
Oh by the way if you can swing it, sometimes you find homes for rent in the Willow District (north of Mcdowell betwen 3rd & 5th avenue) about a 6 minute drive from that address. There is a link at the bottom. Dont listen to the comments about staying out of downtown Phoenix. There are condos and historic homes that are there that those clueless people could only dream about affording.
