Why are alot of people moving to Arizona? |
I have been hearing alot of people are relocating to Arizona. I have heard some people are moving because it is less smog. But, is the job market rising? There are a lot of jobs out here and the weather is great. Cost of living is medium it isn't high yet. Look at all the jobs that move here. Google is now based out of Arizona. yes it is awesome wheather awesome people and yes the job market is rising Less smog compared to California, but there's still a lot of smog and it's getting worst because everybody's moving here. Have to be crazy to move there! Less smog??? I don't think so, at least not in the winter when all the dirty air lingers in the valley. Bad air advisories are a regular thing there. Not to mention the dust. I grew up in Phoenix and it used to be a nice place, but not now. It's full of crime, homicides daily, its too big and spread out, has crappy public transportation, overpriced housing, utilities, plan on paying at least $200 per month to keep a small house cool, Car insurance is higher because of all the accidents and theft, car registration can be several hundred for an older car. The schools are horrible and traffic is a mess. Add those good old sweltering temps in the summer that average 110 for a good month or more, only to cool off to the low hundreds for several months. Might be jobs, but wages are lower. Most states in the west are all experiencing very high growth from people leaving the east coast as well as California. Take a look at the cost of living, that drives most of the people to AZ. If you were in Los Angeles and could get a house of one quarter the price....you'd have lots of extra cash. That's the thought most have. Unfortunately, everything else is about the same price, and the jobs don't pay as much. More than one of us have come back to LA. I don't know why, but I really wish they would quit...we do have smog...21 years ago when we moved here it was beautiful and the traffic was ok, now it's just like LA...if people don't have a reason to move here, they shouldn't...it's too crowded and the roads can't keep up. job market is rising, housing is reasonable (in comparrison to New England/Cali), quite neighborhoods (for the most part), beautiful weather from September - Mid May (mid May-August sucks!) There are tons of reasons to move to Arizona Less smog?? Phoenix is highly polluted! The job market is good and housing is cheap but it won't be for long because everyone is moving here. Give us another 5 years and we'll be just like L.A. The summer heat is enough to make you pass out. Hopefully that will drive some of the new people out of here!! On the business side, you have a steady climate all year (the motto is "We have two seasons: hot and hotter"). That means no major storms to worry about, hardly any earthquakes, etc. Business thrives when it is more consistent and predictable. I'm moving to Tucson, Arizona tomorrow night and I hope it's what people are saying it is, the nice parts. I do hear it's beautiful but summers are hell with the heat. It gets 115 degrees in the summer in Phoenix. The smog and traffic are every bit as bad as Los Angeles. On the other hand, the weather is beautiful from November through March. The Sonoran desert is a masterpiece as are the mountain areas to the north. Citrus and palm trees are in abundance, and they have more varieties of cactus than you may even know to exist. I heard they have a really good job market at the moment and its supposed to only get better for years to come, so i assume that's the reason, in my opinion that would be the only thing that would get me to move there, personally i hate the desert environment. I live in Ohio and I'm planning to move to Arizona. There are many reasons, but the #1 is the climate. I can't take 6 months of winter anymore, only to be followed by summers of 98% humidity. I love the stunning vistas of Arizona. I love the culture. (There is no culture here to speak of.) I need to get out of the Midwest as fast as possible. But that's just me.... I know it is one of the prettiest places i have ever been! It would get way too hot during the summer though. They have very pretty geodes and rocks there also! I bet the cost of living is very low too. cause AGB is there Because it's "God's Waiting Room" - if you want to live with blue-hairs with beehives and Buicks and Lincolns and Caddys they can't drive or park, then 'Zona is the place for you! |
