Why are the youth leading the call for communal action?

鈥淭o the Filipino youth now stand, fair hope of my fatherland鈥?

This is, I think, what Dr. Jose Rizal actually said, and you can even replace "fatherland" with "motherland" if you feel like it.

This "communal action" is a phrase made popular by the current fad / movement regarding the Lozada "abduction", I suppose. But the word "commune" is not a new thing. The French Revolution saw a lot of the word. There is a distinct possibility the word "communist" may trace its origin from there.

If it is the Youth leading this call, I just hope they do not have communist cadres (who are not really with the youth, but with the "gayut") in their midst, inciting them to open rebellion.


* gayut - could be an archaic term, a street slang during the old days, and refer to those who are over the hill where "youth" is concerned.

because we always say they are the hopes of the future,
we did our part,so it's up to them

Because we are just tired of this old same carousel ride.It just keeps on circling around but nothing really happens.

Youth is the hope of the future per se as Gat Jose Rizal said.We still stay hanging onto that heroic expectation.

New breed,new game !

The previous warriors are either dead, tired, retired, or have joined the system. There's no one left.

other than we are the nation's future, we also have the number and the power to do so.
i think that youth's voice is just the most powerful to ask for reform.
