WHY does it take an emergency to know who are our TRUE friends?

i am not talking about money, coz money is not an emergency.

because for our true friends, we know that we can go on fighting for and alongside them long after we thought we can't.

true friendship is best tested in trying times because when people start walking out on you, your true friends will come running to you and gunning after those people who deserted you ***grins***

because the only people who will not dessert us in bad times are true friends. Its a test of their loyalty.

I dont find that statement to be %100 accurate. You can find out who "True Friends" are in a multitude of way's. However, In an emergency situation, only the Best and Truest of friends will usually come through for you, I think thats because in the case of being that close to someone, they would even be willing to lay their life down for you, a hard type, and very rare friend to come by. I have been around this place for coming up on 70 years, and can still count on one hand the "True-Friends" I would place in the "Best-Friend" category, The ones who would actually place there life in danger for yours. I cant begin to count numerous friends though, Just people I consider friends, But would not count on them in an emergency. Not allot of friends will give their own life for you I can tell you. The ups and downs of our lives is the discriminating factor that breaks every monotony and uniformity. It helps us learn what is right and what is wrong; what is true and what is false; and all the things that makes our world diverse. Through this, we learn to appreciate the good things around us.

In all of our actions, it is really our hearts that think. All actions start with our heart but are controlled by our mind. In situations where immediate action is a must, our sense of logic blurs. Our mind is too confused to dictate our heart's desires, and that is when our hearts shine; and only the person with the sincerest heart can express and offer true friendship. :)

It doesn't really take an emergency to show who your true friends are.
Imagine this scenario, you need an operation and it costs P25,000 but you dont have the money and worse, your friends cannot help you---do you cease to consider them as true friends in this emergency. I hope not.
What is a true friend, one who accepts you for the person you are, warts and all, one who sticks by your side through thick and thin and lastly, no matter how much proof there is to the contrary, trusts you. Now that is a friend to have and to die for.

i suppose emergency doesnt mean money is involve,,because like papa chuck i also believe that true frienship cannot be rate with monetary help they can produce.true friends are those a phone call away anytime you need them and always gives time and shoulder in any situation.true friends are hard to find these days.....

Because these "emergencies" doesn't pick any time. And "true" friends are like Superfriends of the Justice League. It takes one call only, and everyone will come to the rescue. No matter where they are, what they're doing, what they're wearing, they just have to be there. It's like a program that executes automatically whenever you pushed that F1 key.
