Hi! I'm a single female who's field is in audit and accounting. I have some questions regarding my move to Perth. Hope you can help me.
1. Where in Perth is the best place for me to stay? I love nature. A place that's quiet and peaceful.
2. What is the condition of the job market today in Perth? I'm open to accept jobs other than accoutning./audit.
3. Is it easy to look for a room for rent in Perth? My budget is only around 100-150/wk.
4. Can I easily fit there considering that I am of Asian origin?
5. Can you give me an idea how much money I'd need per month to pay for my rent, bills, food, transportation, etc.? I need to budget my money since I'd still be looking for a job when I get there.
6. How long do you think it'd take me to get a job? I'm not picky as long as the pay is enough to pay the bills, to have some left for savings and entertainment.
Thank you for your answers! 1. Roleystone, Kalamunda, or anywhere in the Hills is near nature.
2. Job market is extremely hot. Send your resume to any HR recruiting firm in finance such as Hays or put it online with seek and you'll be doing interviews immediately. You might even have a job before you get here if your qualifications are accepted in Australia.
3. You will find it very difficult to find accommodation in that budget range, but try the Perth, Yokine, Mount Lawley areas as that's where most of the flats are. However you might find board or shared accommodation elsewhere.
4. You will not have a problem being Asian, about 25% of Perth is especially and Winthrop, Murdoch, Mirrabooka and Northbridge. Visit the Perth City underground Library at 573 Hays Street when you get here. That's where all the newcomers hang out and make friends.
5. Bare minimun for comfort is about $40K AUD per year, average wage is about $65K AUD per year. Even payroll and payment clerks in mining companies can easily get that.
6. You can get a job within days at present. My advice is dont..... Im not from Perth I would love to move there myself though
Dont worry about fitting in Aussie culture is about everyone being different and unique.
It costs a bit to live in oz In sydney I pay 300 per week just for rent
Perhaps you should research the state itself a little more
Goodluck 1. If you want nature, I'd suggest the hills east of Perth, but its not so close to the City. There are the western leafy suburbs, but the prices will be more expensive.
2. The jobs market is excellent at the moment. you shouldn't have too much trouble finding one, depending on your experience and what you are prepared to apply for. Just make sure you have the correct visa etc.
3. Try www.realestate.com.au or www.perthexchange.com.au. Renting can be difficult in Perth at the moment, but certainly not impossible and for $100-150 you should be able to find either a decent room or a pretty ordinary studio.
4. You should have no trouble fitting in. Its a fairly multicultural city. Although there are suburbs where certain nationalities are more represented than others.
5. All very generalised approximations, but maybe $80 food (groceries), $30 transportation, rent as above or more like $200 for a nice 1 bed apartment, maybe $60 a week for entertainment extras, ie restaurant/movie/drinks.
6. Probably a month or less if you apply for several once you arrive. Less if you arrange beforehand. Howdy single female..
1. Best place for nature in my opinion isnt really in perth, it bout 2-4 hours down south in places called busselton, bunbry, margeret river, pemberton etc. They have herritage listed rain forrests down there that r peaceful and very, very nice places to live.
2. Job market in perth is going absolutely crazy!! WA is going thru a job crisis because everyone is leaving their jobs for high paying mining careers. U will get a job vvvvverrrryy, very easy as an accountant, either in the CBD or in the mining sites, if thats what u choose to do.
3. However.... because of the mining boom, u will not get a house for anything less then $250 a week, unless you share. Your should find a place for to share pretty easy though.
4. Easy. Perth is a very multi-cultural place, and even down south or in the mines you would fit in without a prob.
5. Rent is expensive. However thats the only overly priced commodity you will pay for. transportation is cheap, as s food. If u can base your budget around your rent, your living expenses will sort itself out.
6. Job = ezy. Have a look at the links i'll provide and u should be able to see for urself!! Good luck!! |
