I'm going to Paris, but I need some help, asnwer my question?

I'm planning a trip to Paris, France for June, about four days long. I have no idea where to stay or how to transport myself. I have no family or friends there. So my questions are:

Are there cheap 2 star hotels where I can stay?
What do I need to transport myself (I use metrocards for the subway in NY)
How much does food cost?
Would it be cheaper if eat in the hotel?
I want an estimate of how much I would have to bring with me to France for those four days to cover hotel, food, and transportation.
I'm going by myself and I do not intend on doing any shopping. I'm attending an event that lasts two days, and maybe I'll visit some sights, what do you recommend?

stephanie was using the amount you should bring in euro. since your from the u.s. (assuming) she thinks you need to bring about 575 dollars give or take. Im going to paris for the first time in may/june so ill just give you general advice.

the cheapest hotels will be on the outskirts of the city so go to expedia.com or hotels.com to check out different prices.

Food is pretty expensive so your best bet if you want to save money is find a grocery store and make your meals in your hotel room. once again go online to find the names of grocery stores around in paris.

im assuming you already have paid for your ticket. if not do it now. i just got a ticket from new orleans to london for 800 bucks w/ tax included. i cant give you a good guess cause you need to do research but i would say between 500-900 bucks if you want to see some good stuff.

obviously i fyou have 2 days to explore you can do alot of walking if you are in good shape. obviously you should check out the eiffel tower (spellin will be wrong all along this) arc de triomph, lourve, notre dame ect. go to france.com or other websites to narrow down what you want to do.

Hello. well i m Parisian, so i can advice you for those things. (My english sometimes is not that exact, so excuse me;))

Hotels in Paris are in general expensive, but you can find very charming hotels in Paris-Central. Paris is very cosmopolitan, if u don't like too much Foreign areas, no way for the 18th and 19 arrondissements. Ibis, Citadines and Accor Groups Hotels propose different hotels from low prices to very high prices.

In Paris, you find all Restaurants. French, English, US, Chinese, Indian.... ALL. with all prices. French restaurants are in general expensive. But don't worry for it.

By transport, is very easy. Metro(subway) of course, and RER lines if you wan't going to the suburb (Versailles or Disney for Instance). For a travel of 4 days, I suggest you the "Mobilis pass". Very usefull and unlimited travel in the city per day (near 5鈧?a day). You just need a pass for zone 1-2 (Paris central).

To visit, you ve of course the great "classic" : Tour Eiffel, Champs Elys茅es, Concorde, Opera, Notre Dame... and many others. But I suggest you to walk down the street, is 1000 time better than taking subway. And most of the monuments are close to each other.

-Quartier Latin (very charming) is Metro St Michel (line 4).
-Pigalle and moulin Rouge : Metro Pigalle-Blanche (Line 2)
-Bercy village : Metro Cour Saint Emilion (Line 14)
