What are some fun things for families to do in paris?

were going to paris this year in the summer. my little brother is 7 and my little sister is 11. im 13. me and my parents thought that it would be fun to go to eurodisney, but we heard that it was like the same exact thing as the disneyland in california and florida, but even smaller. is that true?

and what other fun things are there to do?

We took my (8yrs old at the time) daughter to Paris and these were the things she liked best:

- Eiffel Tower (take the elevator up and walk down. Have them count the stairs on the way down - little kids love that stuff)
- Boat cruise along the Seine
- Notre Dame cathedral to check out the gargoyle statues
- Stroll the Champs-Elys茅es (they have McDs and Pizza Hut for picky eaters).
- Aquaboulevard water park

We went to EuroDisney and it is similar to Magic Kingdon in Orlando, only newer with much shorter lines. We were there in November so there were NO lines at all and it was actually kind of nice.

We also went to the Children's Museum, but I don't recommend it. Everything is in French (hard to play with the other kids) and it is really hard to get to.

We skipped the Louvre because it typically has a long line and is a lot to take in for little kids, but we did visit the outside to see the fountain and architecture.

Eiffel tower

Disneyland Paris is not much different than any disneyland Park. It would be a terrible waste of your time to travel all the way to France to go there if you've been to either one in the United States.

If you really, really feel the need to go to a theme park then consider going to the Parc Asterix which is a French theme park totally unrelated to the Disney operation. Their website is here: http://www.parcasterix.fr/

There are lots of things for families with younger children to do in Paris.

There is a HUGE ferris wheel at the place de la Concorde that gives fantastic views of Paris.

There is a wonderful marionette theater in the Luxembourg Gardens. (there are also a lot of nice kid's play areas here...you're probalby too old to be interested but your little brother and sister would like them). There's a big pond in the center and kids rent little boats and sail them on the pond.

The catacombs of Paris are wonderfully creepy. They dug up all the old bones from cemeteries all around Paris and put them in one place. The bones are arranged in all sorts of interesting displays. check it out here: http://www.catacombes-de-paris.fr/englis...

During the summer they truck in sand to the banks of Seine and make a huge artificial "beach." You can't swim in the river (its too dirty) but people play beach volley ball, dance, hang out and generally have a good time.

There are all sorts of street performers who play music, sing, dance, juggle, do fire breathing acts and comedy routines in front of the Centre Pompidou (where the Museum of Modern Art is). The comedy stuff is really funny with audience participation. When they ask for volunteers from the audience to join in you might consider volunteering. Even if you don't speak French they won't mind since they deal with tourists all the time. Its a lot of fun so join in and get a picture...it will really be something to talk about when you get home.

There's a carousel by the Hotel de Ville (the city hall) that your younger siblings might like.

The new Branley Museum which is not far from the Eiffel Tower has all kinds of nifty interactive exhibits. Its a museum devoted to non-European culture (Africa, Asia, etc). You might like it although perhaps its too sophisticated for your kid brother and sister.

There are nice boat rides along the Seine with guides who explain the sights that can be seen from the river. Some leave from the area of the Eiffel Tower and some from the area of the Pont Neuf in the city center.

You can climb to the top of the Cathedral of Notre Dame up the ancient stone steps and see the gargoyles and the big bells up there. If you're old enough to have read "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" in school then you'll know this is where Quasimodo, the hunchback was supposed to live.

On Sundays you should go to the market by the rue Moufetard in the 5th arrondissement. There are always musicians playing traditional French music there.

It's great to go hang out at one of the parks. The Bois de Boulogne is great! Go down in the catacombs if you aren't scared--- very cool! If you want to see everything from a wonderful perspective, take a cruise on the Bateaux Mouches in the Seine! (A must!)

i have been to Paris and eurodisney and yes it is smaller but some of the rides are better. if u guys are into rolller coasters the space mountain at eurodisney goes uupside down 3 times.
u can also go to the top of the eiffle tower and see the pretty view. its beautiful at night. there is a lot of shopping too!
