Hotels in Paris?

it's gonna be my first time visiting Paris and i have no idea which hotel i should stay and where should it close by... i don't like small hotels, at least 3 stars, clean, comfortable, safe, convenient... and not so expensive... am i asking too much? any ideas or suggestions please!!! thanks a million in advance!!! =)

Well, yes, you probably are asking too much. I should mention that the French "star" system only goes to 3 stars and has little, if anything, to do with the size of the hotel.

Your choices come down to large and convenient (which tend to be expensive), large and inconvenient but relatively inexpensive (because they are on the outskirts or even outside the city) and small with prices ranging from quite reasonable to fairly expensive.

Look, its like this. If you are going to Paris then you are not going to be spending much time in your hotel if you have any sense at all. You'll go there to sleep and to shower and maybe have a cup of coffee in the morning. You'll spend all day sight seeing and all night out having a good time. People don't eat dinner until 8 PM and clubs stay open until the sun comes up. What's the point of staying in a big hotel that's just exactly like what you'd find in Omaha Nebraska? Do you think you'll be using the swimming pool rather than seeing the Eiffel Tower or using the health club instead of touring the Louvre?

You want a hotel in the 4th, 5th, or 6th arrondissements in the center of the city. Tell me how much you want to spend on a hotel room and I'll give you a specific suggestion.

I went to Paris for a week last April and rent a studio flat on a short term basis. It cost 鈧?0 a night. It was half way between Louvre and Centre Pompidou, double gate to get in-safe, little kitchen, bathroom, living area with double sofa and entresol with double bad. The contact is David Flandin, e-mail: centreparis@netcourrier.com. Place is called Studio Greneta. Enjoy!

hotels in Paris aren't cheap and most of the rooms are pretty small unless you have a big budget. Last time I went to Paris I stayed in an apartment through this company http://www.holiday-velvet.com/paris but there are many companies to choose from. An apartment seem to offer better value than hotels

hey,

i agree with the comment above this. Hotels are not cheap and very small and you don't as much what you pay for. I've traveled to Paris several times but for my last trip I decided to try out renting an apartment. In comparison to the other times in hotels it was such a much better experience renting an apartment.

I used a company called "Parisian Home". You can look at their website (http://www.parisianhome.com). You can select the area, budget, size, etc. and they are very pleasant to work with. And they speak english as well. Good luck!

A good travel site to search and compare hotels in Europe is with "18K travel"

http://www.ytbtravel.com/18ktravel

On the hotels page click on the link
"European Hotels" It is located toward the middle of the page, a little more than half way down under the red lettered heading of "travel resources"

There are numerous hotel selections in Paris.

Enjoy your time and have a wonderful day.

You can search and choose hotel information, rates and availability for free in over 200 countries world wide at my profile.

http://www.travel-europe.org

You can sort hotels on cheapest rooms, destination, popularity, rating by guests or select a hotel on the map.

Go for an apartment if you can in the heart of the city, then you can walk to nearly everywhere and you'l have a much more parisian experience than a big american hotel.
French hotel rooms are TINY.
What ever you do, look for a building with an elevator if you are on an upper floor (quieter).
I also used parisianhomes.com for a great apartment near Notre Dame and don't think I'll go back to a hotel again for any future visits.
