What kind of energy converter to buy?

I am going to France in March and April and I want to take my laptop, but I don't know what kind of energy converter to buy. I know you have to buy the one for Europe, but is there a brand that I should or should not trust? What do you think I should do?

For a laptop you don't need a converter. They all can handle 100-240 volt current. All you need is an adapter for the plug. One for Southern Europe would have two round pins.

Why would you take a laptop to paris, bring a camera and a great attitude. But if you must, go to your local travel bookstore. They sell them and advise which to get. yellowpages.
