Where would I find a cheap but nice apartment to rent for a week in Paris - one that is near public transport?

Paris has such a dense public transportation net that just about everyplace within the city of Paris proper is near public transportation.

Paris is not the most expensive city in Europe but it is not cheap and there simply aren't any "cheap but nice" apartments for one week rentals.

There ARE apartments that you can rent for a week and they are good value for the money but you simply aren't going to find a place you can rent for 鈧?00 euros a week or some other fantastically low price.

You should expect to pay about 100 euros a night for an apartment in the city. This is comparable to a tourist-class hotel rate, BUT you have the advantage of more space (usually) and cooking facilities which allow you to prepare some of your meals at home.

If you google "paris vacation rental" you will get a multitude of hits.

You can find one near the Arc de Triomphe and Champs Elysees. Metro Charles de Gaulle Etoile (which is also the RER link) is just two minutes away. The Air France Airport shuttle from Roissy Charles de Gaulle Airport stops on Avenue Carnot, one minute away. There are also very good bus services from here. Accommodation in France is not a problem, there are so many companies that specialise in holiday apartments and cottage holidays that I am sure you will find a suitable place to stay, we have just been and used a company that advertise thousands of places to rent in France. Paris is an amazing place and you will definitely find what you're looking for. As you haven't mentioned which country you're from, it's hard to know what's cheap for you.

I've just booked an apartment in Paris for June, after looking at about 100 different ones online. I was totally amazed at what I found :-)

You will be able to find a Studio - no bedroom - but with a fold out sofa bed and kitchenette & bathroom in every district/arrondissement.

Notes:
- most apartment buildings in Paris do not have a lift/elevator, so be prepared to walk up a couple of flights of stairs
- many buildings are centuries-old, therefore many apartments are small and compact, but functional

You can save money buy cooking your own meals or shopping at the local street markets and making a picnic.

But something cheap, no...
