How Can I Buy Something Part Time in Paris?

I travel to Paris at least twice a year and I am looking for a way to keep from throwing money away on hotel rooms and rent. Any ideas out there? I would like to get some kind of return on my investment so I do not want to do a time share.

Have an affair

try looking

Theres always hostels. If you go to gar de nord where the eurolines coaches terminate you will see a whole host of people flogging cheap rooms for about 30 to 40 a night.
Have a look where students stay. Call into your local university

The French system isnt geared towards the foreign investor. The French government charge a fee called a 'frais de notaire' which is around 15 percent of the cost of the property. Also you are taxed 5 percent of any profits if you sell within five years of buying.
On one hand this is a good thing as it stops foreign people buying to invest and raising the house prices like in the UK however it is a foreign investor's nightmare. The system is good for French people as they have an excellent buy to let scheme here but you have to be French.

I don't think you can do that but you can buy a studio (for under 150,000) or room (for under 80,000) and rent it out to tourists by the week when you are not in it. Have a property manager deal with the rentals if you do not have time yourself.
