French movies...?

I'm looking for good French movies. I don't mean 'popular' French films. I'm looking for 'artistic' ones like Amelie.
Do you have any to recommend?

We just watched Le Papillon and it was wonderful! Highly recommended and available through Netflix, Amazon.com, etc. Amusez vous bien!

i think you'd like ''les valseues''(swinging balls) with g茅rard d茅pardieu. its from the 70's and was sort of the posterchild for the equivalent of the hippie movement in the u.s.

also, a more recent film that is great is called "tanguy"(ton gee) which is about a parisian adult who won't leave his parents apartment. its hilarious!

but, if you take any of my advice, you must see "l'auberge espanol. i trust you can pronounce those. anywho, its about a group of exchange college students passing a semester together in france. its absolutely fantastic.

and fyi... just about any french film is going to have more substance and be more artistic than a lot of american movies. the french filmmakers haven't yet got so greedy that they churn out a bunch of ridiculous nonsense to make a quick 50 mil. besides, the french wouldn't go for it if they did.
