Studying in Paris for the next 4 months -- good gifts for host family? (mother/father/18 yr old daughter)?

I am really at a loss as to what would be a present that a family in Paris could really appreciate and I only have a couple of days to figure it out. Any ideas?

If you're from the state, something represents your area or a college shirt for the young girl would be nice. You can also get stuff that represents Us landmark such as Empire state building, Washington monument, something from Disney (can't be more American than Disney) etc.. for the family. You can get them on line.

In France, each region has its own specialty. In Provence, they are famous for their lavender, textiles, spices, cicada, perfume etc... You want to bring something that's unique but do not bring wine. French people are picky when it comes to wine. They make one of the best wines in the world so they don't need American wine.

you should buy them an american flag... jk. umm, i think perhaps some sort of memorabilia from your region of the country or your state. for some reason, they love stuff from texas. so maybe a cowboy hat? some boots?

or better yet... buy two really good bottles of wine from the u.s. they don't sell american wine in france, so you could surprise them with it.

How about something handmade? Like from a shop in your area...something local, not necessarily representative of your area so much, but like woodwork or crossstitching or quilting...something unique.

Nice handmade portraits or paintings made from photos are always a good gift idea. You can find more such ideas at http://www.paintyourlife.com
They make all types of personalised and unique portraits on oil, pencil, charcoal or on canvas. I'm sure they'll love the little decor it adds.
This company also has a studio for oil paintings reproductions. In case you are looking for an affordable gift urgently, you can take a look at their 'stock on sale'. Visit http://www.oil-paintings-reproductions.c...
