Where is the panama canal zone?

Where is the panama canal zone?

Hello

The Canal Zone no longer exists, since December 31st 1999.

Canal Zone was considered many areas in Panama. Anywhere there was a military base it was considered "Canal Zone". I will mention some to give you a better idea.

Pacific side:

Ft. Clayton (Army)
Ft. Coby (Army)
Ft. Howard (Air Force)
Ft. Amador (Navy)

Atlantic Side:

Ft. Sherman
Ft. Goolick
Ft. Davis

Then you had some places like Coco Solo, Cristobal, Margarita and Gamboa that were areas known as housing for the military spouses and children outside the military bases.

no longer exists. Used to be US territory about 20 miles around the Panama canal

In Panama, along the canal. Ok, According to the first poster, it doesn't actually exist anymore, but that WAS where it was.

the canal zone - is the area near the actual canal. if you are not a panamaian you can go in the area to the various shops.

it exists but not as it once did - supported by the americans.

the Panama canal zone (meaning where tha Panama Canal Is). is located at the narrowest point of the isthmus of Panama, between the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean

Panama Canal Zone (meaning the USA Military area) was a 553 square mile (1,432 km虏) territory inside of Panama, consisting of the Panama Canal and an area generally extending 5 miles (8.1 km) on each side of the centerline (but excluding Panama City and Col贸n, which otherwise would have fallen in part within the limits of the Canal Zone.) Its border spanned two of Panama's provinces

The Canal Zone is in Panama. People are mistaken because they are thinking that this was a military name...but in Panama we refer to it as the Area Canalera translated is basically the same the Canal Area..Area is a synonym for zone...so there you go The Canal Zone or Area Canalera is in the Republic of Panama in the Province on panama and The Province of Colon.
