You can get real cheap ones from about 200 Rp, and about 800Rp in th elow season will get you somewhere like Park Avenue (has a pool) or Bamboo village (again with a pol) which are 5 mins to the beach (there are many similarly priced) and in calangute

If you go to North Goa, I can highly recommend staying at Anjuna Beach Resort. We stayed there about a month, then moved to their other property about 1 very short block from the beach for high season and the Anjuna Flea Market as well as allowing me to talk with other foreigners (5 months from home can be a little wearing) . Joseph and Fabiola D'Souza are great, restaurant on the property has wonderful food, laundry services, extraordinary clean rooms and outstanding service. at highly affordable rates. They are very honorable people who I have trusted with my child when I was in the hospital there.
