Good night stopover options along the mumbai goa highway preferably from Mahad?

Hotel should be good , decent , not too expensive , required only for night halt with family

you can stay in khed a small town and very famous of eatry items . there are lot of small cheap and best hotel there.
if you want good one try Poonam Super hotel.or go in the town opp bus stand lot of small hotels.
and do not miss vada pav at teen bati nakka area a shop name pandu vada pav centre.
Apte near khed Theatre, and Patne in wani peth. Paythe Restaurant is famous for his hignic food.

You can stay in PULE resort located at sea shore with beautiful Ganesh temple, bit inside from NH-17 say 16 km.

Try to take a stop at Mangoan. This place has cross over.. straight you go to Goa...and if you take a right you go towards Dive Aghar..... Harihareshwar.... another good place to hang around.
