Road trip - Hyderabad to Goa?

Planning for a road trip very soon to Margao, Goa from Hyd, and one part I am unsure of the state of the Hubli - Goa part of the leg:
Option1: (170kms) Hubli to Londa on SH34 (Really no idea), and then on NH4A from Londa into Goa , and then breakoff at Molem to Margao
Option 2: (230 kms) From Hubli on NH63 via Yellapur to Ankola, and then on NH 17 via Karwar to Margao-Goa.
Option 1 is shorter by 60 kms but not sure about the roads, the ghat sections, the safety (especially at night), and the view.
Option 2 is good from all these aspects except the extra distance.

NH4A is suppossed to be the NH from Belgaum to Goa...however on a similar trip last year I was always advised against it, as it is not suppossed to be any good.

from hubli you can go by NH 4 up to belgaum and from there you can go by national highway (new as it was previously state highway i do not know the number but i am sure it become national highway) to panaji. it will be totally national highway throughout from hydrabad to goa . for further detail clik on this link

and i am sure it will be shorter one and better then the option you mention here. if you wish to go by any one of two which you mention here my choice will be option two.
for further detail you can see my old answer for the same question in yahoo
my advance wishes for your happy journey

option 2 is a better aspect

Hi

Option 1 is the best.

The best option for you will be from

Hubli - Dharwad - Londa - Molem - Ponda - Borim - Madgaon

The road was in good condition when I visited last time few day back.

Good luck.
