Nearest sandy beaches to Palermo?

We are arriving by cruise ship and wish to spend the day on the beach, where is the nearst family beach and how much would the taxi fare be?

to Mondello -
Pay for a " Cabina " at the " Stabilimento "
( Actually built by Mussolini )
And try some local " Fast-food " .

Than again ...If you are only there one day ,
a Taxi would be an option .

The best ( Faster ) . The fare = Don't know
Never heard of anyone going there by taxi .

I know that Mondello is sandy and about a quarter of an hour bus ride. I haven't been to the other beaches.
