Best Way to Exhchange Large Amount $ to Euro?

I will be moving to Italy soon after having worked here for in the US for a couple of years. I would like to take my savings with me. What is the cheapest way to exchange a large number of US dollars for Euro's.

Put it into a bank account in a bank that does business internationally. Leave it there until you get to Italy, then pull it out in Euro's.

I don't know what you call a large amount of money, but with the movement of money being watched by home land security I would have the source of the money well documented I am sure if you keep asking you will get a good answer I would go to a large bank and get advise that is what they do MONEY.

I would also recommend that you leave it in a bank that has branches around the world, like Citibank. Get an ATM card that you can use overseas and debit the money as you need it.

The change kiosks at the airports are genrally the cheapest.
