Shipping a package soon..?

i've never shipped a package anywhere before so i'm wondering before i go and get it all together if the post office has to know what's in there or can i wrap it up and get it set up the way i want it at home and then take it to get weighed and set up...

all i'm trying to do is send a few dorky/embarrassing things to a female friend of mine & i'd prefer not to have everyone all in my buisness..

It can depend on where it is going to. If it is going to a person in the same country then you do not have to list or say what is in the package. You can have it all boxed & addressed before you go. They will ask if there is any liquids, explosives, etc.. in there.

Now if it is going to a FPO/APO address or a foreign country then a customs form will need to be filled out in which you must list what is in there. You can say something like paper, toys, clothing, etc... And that is fine.

I mailed a package a while back b/c the postman would not accept. I must of put 30 stamps on there just b/c I was too lazy to go to the post office but they said if it weighs over a certain amount it has to be taken to an authorized mailer. Then when I get there they ask whats in the package. By the look on my face he could tell I was in shock. He said I don't have to be specific but they just wanna know a category. Like any1 sending explosives or something would really tell. It was just some PJ's I had sent to a friend for her birthday so I think I said underwear. Things have changed since 9/11. When they ask you I dare you to say drugs. LOL
