What to pack for Italy? |
I'm spending six weeks studying abroad from late June to early August in Florence, Naples, Assisi, and Rome. (I'm sixteen so I want to make sure I don't dress too conservatively, or too scantily..) I would take a pretty skirt, at least knee length with various tops which do not show too much flesh. A good pair of jeans which will also inter match with the various tops. If you will be near a swimming pool or likely to be taken to the beach you will need swimwear and lots of the young people wear bikinis but take a sarong with you as well so you can cover up if you are getting too hot or if you need to be more modest. Don't forget your suncream. Florence, Naples and Rome are all modern cities and you can expect to see a variety of fashion so keep yourself smart and casual. Assisi as you will be aware a a very religious place - when I last visited it was considered polite to wear a scarf over your head when inside the church I don't know if that attitude will have changed. I loved the peace of Assisi it was such a balance to the bustle of Rome. Hope you have a great time. |
