Having visited the site below, it seems that it would probably be a waste of time to take a TV to NZ - you would get a picture, but no sound, as NZ operates on non-UK compatible frequencies. (Although it's been suggested that running it through a Sky box might overcome the problem). Other electrical items are fine - you'll just need to change the plugs when you get there. You might like to visit the ExPats forum below, as you'll be reading answers directly from NZ. Wishing you Good luck and a happy life.

Leave it!

New Zealand uses PAL system I for its television, same as the UK. However, I am not sure how far down the road to Widescreen and Digital Tv they are.

UK electrical equipment should be OK.

They have some very heavy rules on the import of plants, fruit and vegetables and even mud on the soles of shoes, so be careful.

Take a look at: www.kropla.com/electric.htm

This site has helpful information for travellers asking such questions.

sell them all.

suppose an item gets broken in transit? it wont happen if it doesn't go in the first place, and what about spares for repairs?

also there is the extra cost of more items to be shipped
