As a British Citizen do I need a Visa to travel to France for a day trip (leisure) via the Eurostar?

Thanks for your help, much appreciated!

If you are a British Citizen or British Subject with Right of Abode in the United Kingdom, you will not need a visa to enter France. Other British passport holders should confirm the current entry requirements with this consulate general.

United Kindom is part of the European Union but not of the Schengen agreement which includes, Austria,Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Greece, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain and Sweden. All these countries, except Norway and Iceland are European Union Members.

Therefore british subjects cannot go to France with an expired passport. They must produce a valid british passport. Driving licences are not accepted. All British passport holders require a valid passport. There is no minimum passport validity requirement but you should ensure that your passport is valid for the proposed period of your stay.

Have a great time!!

No.

just your passport

no you don't need a vise to go to any country part of the EU i think the only country a British citizen needs a vise for is Israel and i think u may need one for USA because laws have changed not sure on that one though but for France defiantly not

British citizens do not need visas to travel around Europe.

However, you will need a passport in order to return to Britain because we are not members of the Schengen agreement which abolished border controls across the Continent.

Visa = the approval from another country that you may visit them (amongst most nations this is a mere formality, awarded at the point of entry free of charge)

Passport = the identification required to return to your country

no

Hi!
I am french and live in the UK.
I never had to show any visa.
Just your passport is enough since the UK is an EU country.

You don't get visas to other EU countries any more. You will need your passport as ID.

No, have fun

No just your passport for anywhere in the EU

no. but your passport might come in handy.

hallo,
France visa is not required for citizens of United Kingdom for a stay up to 90 days.

British nationals must have a valid passport. A visa is not required for a stay of up to three months for travellers holding a passport endorsed British Citizen or British Overseas Territories Citizen. In all other cases, a visa is required.
