Can a US permanent resident (green card) go to Mexico with Chinese passport that will expire within a month.? |
1. His daugher and wife are U.S. citizens holding valid US passports I forgot to mention it's by air, not by land or sea. Yes, no problem. Requirements to enter Mexico are the same for citizens of the U.S.and for permanent residents. There is no requirement for the passport to be valid longer than the dates of the visit. He needs to carry his green card. You can verify this thru the site below...just enter his nationalituy, enter that he is an alien resident of the U.S.A., enter the destination, and click for the info. You will see that it says a passport is required. if there are any special requirements concerning the passport, it always says so...and there are none. I also checked the U.S. State Dep't site and the Mexican embassy site, and there are no requirements for longer validity on the passport. Your best bet would be to check with a travel agent or even with the TSA. If everything is on the up and up, there shouldn't be a problem, but it's best to ask someone who deals with that, on a regular basis. |
