Can i bring a flat iron in my carry-on luggage?

if i can would they have to like take it out and check it or anything at security? has anyone brought one recently?

Of course you can. I always carry my flat-iron and curler with my carry on along with other things that I might need if my luggage gets lost. That way I have the necessities I need when I get to my destination. You have nothing to worry about at all. In fact I was flying on Jan 26th and Feb 3rd and did this. I had no trouble whatsoever. However, be careful with the new battery requirement they have while flying these days. Check out link below for more info about this.

I think it should be okay. Its not sharp, not flammable and all that stuff, but check with the airports that you're gonna pass by during your flight cause they all have their own things going on.
