Backpack traveling question?

I travel with a large backpack, and I don't want to check my backpack in, any tips so I can take it as a carry-on?

how large. It may be worth upgrading.

try this one. look around he has great big cases that fit onboard.

Make sure your backpack fits this size or you will have a problem:

* U.S. - Most U.S. domestic, non commuter airlines 22"x14"x9". Many allow a second smaller item as well such as a tote, cosmetic bag, briefcase, etc.
* International - 18"x14"x9" - This is a recommended carry-on size and will very from airline to airline.

..also make sure the fabric won't rip from tear and use. And that the zippers are really good.

If it is a large pack, you probably have no alternative to checking it in. It has to fit in the overhead compartment, under the seat, or in a closet to go on board. A large pack won't go under a seat or in an overhead bin and closet space is usually tight if there is any available at all.

Measure the exterior dimensions of your pack and then call your airline to see if your aircraft has a suitable closet and if you would be allowed to put it there.

If all else fails, try to take a nonstop flight. There is less risk of your pack getting lost.
