Maybe a dumb question, but I'm not a suit and tie person, and I have to take a suit on a plane this weekend. I'd like to arive without my suit looking like a wrinkled mess. Get either a suit bag from a company like Samsonite, or if the suit came in a plastic cover that can be zipped closed, then you can use that too. Most airlines will allow you to carry a thin suit bag on -- ask a flight attendant to hang it in the closet. But I'd definitely check w/ the airline about carry-on limits -- not sure if that counts as your one bag, or if you can bring another too.
Try rolling your tie rather than packing it flat or hanging on a hanger. It will arrive in better shape.
And don't forget your shoes!!
Happy travels! Most airlines have closets that you can hang them in. Just take it on the plane with you and ask. For others, like Southwest, you will need to lay it in the overhead compartment preferably above other bags. hang it in a suit bag and have the flight attendant pack it. |
