Where is a good, fairly inexpensive place to stay while in Ottawa, Ontario for a weekend?

Where is a good, fairly inexpensive place to stay while in Ottawa, Ontario for a weekend?

The travelodge on carling & kirkwood has an awesome pool and water slides plus they aren't that expensive & parking is included.

Its only 30 minutes from downtown & its in the english area of ottawa so that is great if you are afraid of spking french.

Also the Hampton Hotel on Coventry Road in the east end, very nice hotel, right off Queensway and good quality. Plus near the south end too.

Check out the hotels in the downtown core. They can be pricey but if you stay at a Holiday Inn or Best Western then it won't be too bad.

If you are looking for cheap cheap get a hostel or a motel on the outskirts of the city.

You're basically looking at approx. $115 for two people. This would include any Best Western or Quality Inn type of hotel. Which are good hotels. Average but clean and usually has everything you need.

I would HIGHLY suggest you avoid the Days Inn Downtown. I had so many problems when I stayed there, and it wasn't a very nice room either (burn holes in the bed, stuff not working, etc.)

I prefer to stay at Quality Inn's. I've never had a problem with them. :)

I stayed at Ottawa University--it was a decent place to rest your head--and it was very inexpensive. However that was in the summer--you could call and ask if they have any rooms available. Oh, and it was downtown--you could easily walk to the Parliament Buildings etc.
