What are some negative facts about Ottawa?

It has the worst nightlife compared to any other major Canadian city and in my view the people are the least friendly. It is a staid (read boring) city and is very fortunate that it is only a 2 hour drive to Montreal. The downtown is not particularly attractive, except for the Parliament Buildings. The climate is not bad though it can be very cold and snowy in winter, colder than Toronto but not as cold as the Prairie cities like Winnipeg or Edmonton.

Cold in the winter, not much of a sports town, many of the best jobs require you to be bilingual, filled with jackass politicians and beuracrats.

Cold and lots of snow in winter, but still love the city and have lived in other cities in Canada and could find something bad about all so Ottawa is not much different in that case.
Get some snow tires a good coat, boots, hat and gloves.
