How long is the drive from ottawa to calgary? |
actual experience would be perfered Driving times only. Ottawa to North Bay 4 1/2 -5 hours. Highway 17 north through Hearst to Nipigon, 11 hours, Nipigon to Thunder Bay 1 hour. Thunder Bay to Winnipeg, 8 hours. Winnipeg to Calgary 12 1/2 -13 hours. Cruise control set between 5 -10 Km's over the posted speeds, 37-38 hours. As you enter Winnipeg, take the ring round south to by pass the city. Watch for moose through northern Ontario.You asked for experience, done this route a few hundred times. 34 hours on the road, i do it in 2 1/2 days I'm a longhaul driver and if you drive continuosly for 39 hours along hyway 17, through North Bay to Kenora. You will be in Calgary. Hope that helps well, I am in Toronto and have drove to Edmonton, and that was about 3 days. Mind you i was not in a rush and stopped alot to admire what a beautiful place Canada really is. |
