Is Oaxaxa good for American travellers, any work? |
I'd like to live in Mexico for a few months. Can anyone tell me about the people. Are they friendly to americans. Is there an ex-pat community that you know or? Are there teaching or tourism jobs available there? Please help if you've been or heard 1st hand from residents or former residents. Tx Oaxaca is beautiful. You'll love it. There is an expat community, but it's small relative to others. I lived in San Miguel de Allende for 10 years, and it's overrun with expats. I have heard that the community in Oaxaca is growing. Working is another issue. What will your legal status be? The people, all I can say is Mexicans are the most gracious people I've been around, and I'm pretty well traveled. Oaxaca is good 4 any traveller and people is very kind with foreigners, im a oaxacan guy and i have lived here my entire life so what im saying is true, we had a conflict from few months ago but now things r better, about jobs there r opportunities to get one is not easy but is possible i know people who can help u, there r many american and european people living here, so u r wellcome to oaxaca anytime.If u need more information let me know. |

Have you asked this question on the Mexico answers board? ...From January to August it is very nice, the sea is warm and the weather is great. In September the hurricane season begins so you just have to be careful, even though you could go. Hurricane seas... Not at all! Puerto Escondido is a virgin area, very very very nice and cool, but no resorts, clubs and shops. Huatulco is bigger but not like Canc煤n or Puerto Vallarta. Canc煤n is just for tourist... |
