We're driving London to Normandie to see WWII beaches. Can you recommend a hotel/B&B in Calais or on the way?

We are 4 adults with a car leaving London friday after work and are taking the Dover -> Calais Ferry. I'm not sure how far the drive is but I thought we would have to spend the night near Calais or on the way to Normandie. If you can recommend a town, hotel, or B&B to stay along the way that would help.
Also we are looking for a place to stay in Normandie on Saturday evening, near the D-Day beaches?

Any recommendations on things to see there are appreciated!

For Calais area have a look at

For WWII area from Arromanches 脿 Sainte-M猫re-脡glise) have a look at http://basse-normandie.c-lafrance.com/

The drive to Normandie won't take long. I would look up on the "AA.com" who will recommend hotels.

It is worth going - but do book before you leave.

Try a stay in Bolougne lots of cheap hotels on outskirts such as B&B, Formule 1,There is also a very nice Ibis in town centre.
Look at Le Toque
Also stayed at a small Hotel Logis in Arromanche not to far a walk from its front doors to see Mulberry harbour.
Caen is a big city, look at staying on the coast around Ouiestream .
Never had a bad meal in any of the restuarnts there.
Have a good time. Fill up with cheap petrol diesel on way home.
French petrol stations close on a Sunday but the ones near the ports are usally open to handel our buying of cheaper fuel before we get on the ferry. The pertol stations on the motorway are
usally open
Have a good trip

The Etap chain have a hotel in Calais it is just before you get to the Cite d Europe shopping centre off the A16. Caen is a good place to see the WW!! beaches most of the the main hotel chains will be there
