Why is Toronto, Oshawa, Hamilton, and Niagara Falls are located on some of the best agricultural land? |
in Canada... Because, originally, people settled there because it was suck good farming land...then the cities and industries developed after.... That's because cities are built originally because people gather there, and people settle in specific areas usually to survive and attain food (hence, best agricultural lands gradually become bigger and bigger cities). people tend to settle on good land for agro and stay there, even when industry also takes hold. being along a river and lake are also key factors in choice of where to settle and build. Lake Ontario is connected to the Atlantic via the St. Lawrence river and so is makes it an ideal location for steel mills and the auto trade, which are goods transported by ship. |
