Nigara falls vacation?

What time of year are you looking for?
Is this a romantic getaway or a family vacation?

In the winter time the falls are amazing! the festival of lights is going on and while its darn chilly..its breathtaking. Buffalo not too far away always has something going on as does toronto to the north in case you feel like an adventure.

In the spring / summer...its sooooo gorgeous! the mist on your face..the roar of the falls.

romantic getaway...either get a cheesy little no-tel on Lundy's lane or bust out the big bucks for the Sheraton falls view! either way it will be wonderful.

hit the brazillian steakhouse, rioz, for dinner....drop a few dimes at one of the casinos and then to the strip for some drinking and dancing...and then sneak down to Mints for a little adult entertainment.

Be prepared that the girls will bring anyone on stage with them! It is a very couple friendly place.

The next day take a little drive down to Niagara on the Lake for a light brunch and some boutique shopping.

If its a family vacation...then do the maid of the mist, if you are on the American side Art park, there are family hotels, campgrounds and waterpark hotels.

the butterfly conservatory and marineland and many cheesy little wax museums will keep everyone entertained. throw in a round of mini golf and a few trips to harveys for burgers..and you got a great vacation!

Remember if you want to cross the border to/from canada/states you have to have your passport in order.

The view from the American side is wonderful and they are really trying to build that area up...but the Canadian side is still where all the legal action is...

Awesome! The Canadian side has more going on as far as restaurants and stuff. The American side is kind of boring, but it is no big deal to cross the border. Toronto is about an hour drive and that is a great city.

Niagara Falls is a great place to visit. They have some great fun tacky little museums to visit. They've got two casinos. They have a bird avery.

They have the winter festival of lights. They also have the falls lit up and fireworks. (I'm assuming you're going sometime in winter?)

I can recommend that when you get to Niagara Falls purchase a day pass for the people mover bus. It will cost you about $5 per person for the day. You can take the people mover to all the sites to see including the Falls, the Whirlpool Rapids, the Butterfly Museum, the Spanish cars. Hop off and on all day. Great deal. You and your family would also enjoy Marineland. Lots of sea life whales, dolphins, etc and plenty of rides to go on.
