Have you ever been to Niagara Fall's???

I am going next week and was wondering what I need to walk over to Canada for afew hours and is there anything to do cheap/free in Niagara Fall's?? Is it free to see the fall's lite up at night? I appreciate any idea's,suggestions & opinion's you may have.

Niagara Falls is a beautiful place. Things are certanly not free. Everything is costly. Although the falls is free to viw. It even has bonichilars on every area to viw the falls closer. At this time of the year and closer to Christmas the whole area is lite up with beautiful lights. If you have an oppertunity to go then go you will love it.

You can't walk through the border with the American security up right now, you'll have to drive through. You'll definitely need your passport to get across the border, what with the American border being so tight. also, get ready for a few hours of waiting if you want to cross the America-Canadian border. There are probably a whole lot of people going across because the Canadian dollar is higher than the American dollar. As well, the border inspectors are going to ask questions, maybe two or three, depending on how "suspicious" you look.

Yes the Niagara Falls are free for viewing at ANY TIME, even at night. and its really nice at night too, though it might be cold right now.

Although the Falls are free for viewing, parking might be a bit costly. The closer you are to the Falls, the more expensive it is, maybe around 8 - 10 dollars CAD.

At Niagara (on the Canadian side), there are a LOT of tourist places, like haunted houses (i dont know if theyre open), a wax museum, a huge arcade in Boston Pizza, gift shops, restaurants, 3D movies, other really cool museums of cool stuff, etc... theres literally tons of stuff for tourists. There's also the scenery and surrounding park area to visit for picnics and just hanging out(though the cold might be a bit frustrating). There is also the Maid of the Mist boat that travels into the Falls, though it might not be open because of the season.

There is a small Italian restaurant called Antica Pizzeria (or something along those lines) I would like to reccommend if you like italian food. It's really great.

It is free to see the fall, however, it is state park, you need to pay parking fee( $8 in very close place)

you can't walk though canada, you need to drive though with your passport and driver license and answer some questions and be inspected.

Staying nearby motels is cheap, only $30 per night in US side. There are several casinos in canada side.

Yes I have been to Niagara Falls. But if you are thinking of walking to Canada via the bridge it is not a short walk.

Viewing the lights at night is free, and absolutely gorgeous. I would love to go again.

Things are not really cheap though. Niagara Canada is very touristy, and they charge appropriately.

Some suggestions of attractions are the Journey Behind the Falls and Maid of the Mist.

You might be able to take a shuttle from your hotel to the Canada side.

I have been there literally more then 30 times. Its free to see the falls. pretty much everything else costs money. There is the botanical gardens at the bottom of clifton hill hat is free to walk around and some beutiful parks and such. Its just fun to walk around clifton hill and see all the tourist things

We went to Niagara Falls last week and stayed by the Falls, walking and looking at the water. We never go into the town.

The view is spectacular on the Canadian side. When we take visitors down there, they look across at the American Falls and say Wow. Then we go around the corner and their jaws drop.

Visiting the Falls is free on the Canadian side. You do have to pay for the boat and tunnels, [both worth it but a chunk of money.]

Wear something warm and waterproof, it's always damp around the Falls.

I live only about 15mins from the falls and ive been there a few times. its free to see the falls and the lights everything else you prob have to pay.

I've been there twice and it it so lush! Honestly there are no words to describe it! First time i went was in May which was perfect, nice and warm but not too hot, second time in December which was bleak, everything was shut and it was like a ghost town. It seemed to have got v touristy last time i went lots of amusement arcades around etc.You will have a fab time though! It is amazing!
