Living in New York...is it as glamorous and beautiful as it appears in so many romantic comedy movies? I grew up in NYC, and I'm shocked that so many people think it's so great. Don't get me wrong, it's a wonderful and cultured city and I'll always love my hometown, but it is also dirty, filthy, crowded, EXPENSIVE, there is garbage on the sidewalks (because there are no alleys), grafitti, dreadfully cold in the winter, unbelievably hot and smoky in the summer, and it's stressful, especially if you're used to a slower pace of life. Manhattan is only 9 miles long, but people think it's the size of the US. So, in my opinion, it's not as glamorous and beautiful as the movies portray, it's really not New York City may be glamorous and beautiful as it appears in so many romantic comedy movies, but once you star living in New York City, get ready to pay high rent prices, especially in Manhattan. An studio apartment in Manhattan starts off at $1000 and goes up from there. But you pay for in rent, you'll more in entertainment, which New York City is famous for. maybe it is if you have lots of money and can buy anything, and everyone and can live insulated from the rest of the world. haha no!!! OMG yes. i grew up in nyc and have lived here my whole life, i have travelled the world. nothing compares. srsly. New York is more glamorous and beautiful than the movie makers show it. Seldom is anything as great as it appears in movies. Life is really a result of what effort you expend to make it what you want. NYC or otherwise - you can choose beauty and add it anywhere. In Spring, I think it is. |
