What is like to live in the upper east side Manhattan in New York?

i have always wanted in live in New York!
wants in like?

its a lot of busy people rushing around in different directions - just trying to get wherever they need to go!

chances are, if you do move here, you'll spend the bulk of your time working - getting to and from work - and sleeping...but there are a lot of fun things to do here.

its great going to Central Park when the weather is nice - i also like to people-watch and try different foods.

it's not as scary living here as you might think. there are bad things that happen but if you're careful, you should be able to avoid the crap.

it is expensive - most people don't grocery shop like normal cities - it's mostly grab-and-go...

hope this helps!

faabulous!

The Upper East Side is a nice area to live, but get ready to shell out money by the bucket full. Apartments and condos in the that section of Manhattan are pricy.

Good luck

The Upper East Side is the old ladies district of NYC. Think what it would be like to live in a very expensive mausoleum. Its nice to visit the museums though.

I also think that the UES is not a fun neighborhood. Yes, it's mostly little old ladies, but some younger families are moving in these days.

But as for hip, younger people, Soho, Tribecca, the Village and Chelsea are more hip (and expensive) parts of Manhattan these days.

The UES hasn't been hip since the early 60s!

Take your rent, multiplyit by %5000, then install an ambulance, fire truck, and blaring car alarm across the street from you. Pay double for whatever you buy from the store, and have someone take a leak on your driveway, then tell everyone that a movie star lives across the hall from you. That should just about do it.

The upper east side is quite nice. It has lovely townhouses and mansions, some very pretty hotels, some fantastic museums, very nice grocery stores, good boutiques and is in many ways quiet and sedate.
