I'm going to NYC with one of my friends for the spring break.
This is first time for both of us and we have no idea what places would be good to visit.
I am planning to stay in NYC for about 4~5 days.
What places are would be good to visit? (such as buildings, museums, malls, parks, and foreign towns)
Some people say I can visit pretty much everywhere in 2~3 days.
One other thing is we are gonna stay in Hotel.(Too expensive)
Could you recommend some good places for high school students to stay?
And some other advice if you know?/ Thank you First of all, the best places to stay for a few high school students on a budget will be a youth hostels. Native New Yorker NYC is Great! I suggest you to go to the Rockefeller Center. It is really cool and fun to be in there, you would enjoy the shops, ice skating rink, museums, and the city itself. I also would suggest you to visit Time Square, and Broadway Theater. There are awesome areas and places in New York City. You will love it! Enjoy! umm like all of it because it is beautiffulM鈾モ櫏鈾モ櫏 You're going to have a great time! Congrats!
I'm going to add on to the list from above:
-World Trade Center site
-Statue of Liberty
-Central Park Zoo
-Canal Street
-Union Square
-Battery Park
There are a lot of great, inexpensive restaurants. Check out Tripadvisor.com for more information. I personally love Chat n Chew off Union Square. Make sure that you get pizza, a pretzel from the pretzel guy outside your hotel.
I'd recommend checking out Not for Tourists Guide - it's not one of those "top ten" lists, but it's really good for subway guides, etc.
Also - since you're students, bring your IDs with you. You'll get cheaper rates into museums. You can also use your student ID to buy what's called "rush tickets" at broadway shows/plays - you go in last-minute and ask if they have any rush tickets, show your ID, etc. It's easier to get during the week.
While you're probably not old enough for most of the bars, there are some 18+ ones - check Shecky's website for info.
Plan your trip in advance, it's a big help (trust me) and get packages for anything you can - makes life easier. Oh and remember that the museum admission prices are ordinarily RECOMMENDED prices, such as at the Museum of Natural History. You can donate less (there is a minimum, used to be $1, not sure now).
Have a great time - and for your hotel, PRICELINE! |
