Tell me about Nepal (Kathmandu)...??

I'd rather not get cut and paste information...:)

-Kathmandu is the capital of nepal.
-It is the old city.
-It is dencely populated and polluted too.
-Here you can find many old temples to see.
-It is also a cheap place for shopping

What shall I tell about it......

Well, it is a old city. Legend has it that in ancient times the city( rather I should say Valley) was a lake. Manjushri Boudhistwa, a legendary Buddhist God came to Kathmandu, and drained away the water, making it inhabitable. He did so, by cutting a hill at a point called "katuwal Daha", the place is presently known as Chobhar and is located around 10km far form the Kathmandu downtown of Thamel.

In kathmandu, you may not find "THE NYC SPIRIT", but I guarantee, you'll really rediscover south asia once you be here. If you want to know more about the lives of people here, read the book, "Arresting God in Kathmandu" by Samrat Uphadhay.
