Can you buy an Eid lamb at Marjane?

Can you buy an Eid lamb at Marjane?

The marjane here sells them in the parking lot.

they sell lamb so why not? if you don't want the hassle of having to slaughter one. l'eid is difficult for me i have been vegetarian for 10 years. i want to clarify that i support the traditions/religion and significance of l'eid. I think you can celebrate the traditions and culture without killing the lamb.

Do you mean a whole lamb not yet slaughtered? That'd be pretty cool if you could go there and pick one up!

But about picking up some already killed lamb to eat...well...Eid al adha is not about just eating lamb it is about the prophet Ibrahim and his obedience to God.

****Killing the lamb is not just a cultural tradition, it is an act of worship prescribed in the Quran. We believe Animals go straight to Jannah when they die because they are in complete submission to Allah swt. Allah gave us the animals so we can eat them and use their wool (in this case) for clothing etc. It is out of His Mercy that he has done this for us. We are to slaughter it and distribute some to the poor if we can afford to do these things. I think it is also important to actually slaughter it because it is good for us to know where our food comes from. I actually think it is beautiful to take care of a sheep and raise it and then slaughter it for food. We see the cycle of life and we see the blessings God gave us and how he takes care of us too.

I do however think we should follow the Prophet pbuh more and not eat meat as much as we do.

Allah appointed sacrifice as an act of worship: 22:34 And [thus it is:] unto every community [that has ever believed in Us] have We appointed [sacrifice as] an act of worship, so that they might extol the name of God over whatever heads of cattle He may have provided for them [to this end]. [50] And (always bear in mind:) your God is the One and Only God: hence, surrender yourselves unto Him. And give thou the glad tiding [of God鈥檚 acceptance] unto all who are humble 鈥?
There are many more passages which say how God prescribed sacrifice for us but I won't list them all.

There are some sufis who are vegetarians but what happens when it is time to sacrifice as prescribed in the Quran? I think as long as one still sacrifices and doesn't call the halal haram then it is ok to be a vegetarian and Muslim.
