The cloths that Moroccan woman use to carry their baby on their back...?

what are they called?

It called Hammal, and it is the most preffered for Moroccan women, because they can tight their kids on their back with no worried from falling down, and they do that because they still have home work to do, so they have to do it and also keep an eye on the baby in same time, my mom did that to me, and I want my wife to do that to my kid, it gives to the kid more affection and love than the other fashion chairs, I hate them because the kid is so seperated from the mom, and belive me, the Hammal isnt bad at all for the kids, they are so safe in their backs

I don't know what they are called, but I was very impressed by them. Just think about it, Americans think they have to spend a small fortune for the marketed devices available here and the babies and toddlers appeared to be quite comfortable.

I'm not sure what the name is in Morocco but here in the states they're all the rage...called slings. women here spend a small fortune on them but they've been used in Morocco for years.

It's called "Hammal" or "7ammal", i rarely see it nowadays.

Come to Agadir Mormex and you'll see it on a daily basis :-)
I prefer the baby bjorn lol.

Edit: Fez my Hannah seems to love her baby bjorn carrier lol. I also have an Infantino sling which I use if I am leaving at a time that she is really tired and I know she will snooze. I also use it if I need to do things around the house and Hannah wants to be held to sleep. The infantino puts the baby in a laying down position only.

I didn't know they had a name. I love seeing it all the time. Even in France there are North Africans and other Africans that use it a lot -- so cool to see!

I don't have a baby but I have seen the baby bjorn and think it looks uncomfortable for the baby, but what do I know? ;) I like the mei tai baby carriers and some others. I wish more American women used them...I don't know why I wish this but I guess I just think it is a great thing to take your baby around with you like that. lol

EDIT: OK Sarah, I'll take Hannah's word on it! ;D That infantino one looks comfy. HHmmmm makes me want to revert back and sleep in one. LOL Actually, I just want a baby!!!!!!!!!

Bed Sheet??? :-)
It is really interesting how fashionable the slings have become here in the US and how expensive they are.
I would not invest in one until you know your baby likes it. I have 4 kids and I wasn't able to use with any of them. When I had the twins I thought I definitely needed one so I borrowed different kinds from friends to "test drive" and it just wasn't for us. As for the baby Bjorn, it is ok, but I again, I only used when necessary. For example, a lot easier to carry a baby around the Medina in a Baby Bjorn than in a stroller.
