Do you only eat white khubz or have you tried the whole wheat or sugar free varieties?

My husband always got me the whole wheat or sugar free kinds. Our local shop knew to have some available for me.

I have tried everything, and I think the whole wheat is more healty, the white khubz might make you sick in your stomach if it wasnt cooked enough.

I just wanted to add that my husband said that sometimes they made it without sugar or without salt but they were always special orders where he lived- interesting. Yeah, it takes an adjustment from white to whole wheat and in the US we actually usually eat white. Report It

I'm going to have to find the site and let you know. I was at work when I saw it and wrote it down somewhere...I will be sure to tell you! Report It

I love all types of Khubz, but my favorite is this whole wheat bread baguette with black olives in it. It's so tasty. But normally I eat white Khubz with Kiri Cheese. I can't wait to go eat the bread this summer in morocco.

miammmmmmm i miss morocco now. i have tried every kind of bread/khubz known to mankind. my favorite is the whole wheat with farine granules. i'm hungry now!

I think I've tried all or most. My mil makes sugar free because her own mother is diabetic and only eats that.
I prefer simple white bread if I eat it at all.

Fezster, do share the site with us!

My husband was a boulanger -- and the bread they eat was traditional which means it was not white bread. Get this! I actually saw a blog the other day on which I still need to post --it's of a girl who is with the peace corps in Morocco and she was lamenting the condition of berber women etc and she said, "They don't even have all-purpose flour!!!!!! They have to mix the different varieties!!!!!!!" ROTFL -- in the US you pay all kinds of money for the better bread -- not the "enriched" kind where they take out all the good stuff and put a little back and call it "enriched"! LOL I have SOOOOOOOOO much to say to that girl!

Keep this question open I want to ask my husband about the different breads his family made in the bakery -- I want to know if they made any sugar free. I think, personally, my husband would die if he didn't have sugar. He's anti-diabetic! lol (Not against but opposite.)

It's so interesting because for many years they were the only bakery in their village -- they received huge bags of flour from America to make bread for the students in the school.
