Do you buy bottled water in Morocco, or drink the tap water?

I drank the tap water and had no problems, Alhamdulilah.

I lived there for 6 months and was never sick from it.

The tap water in Morocco is some of the best in the world (being filtered by the Atlas Mountain range). Sometimes it is best to drink bottled water for convenience and have done that as well.

There are only two other places where I have tasted water (tap water) that is so good... Hawaii and Fiji... both have large mountain ranges to filter the water. The biggest city with the best water is New York City (yeap, NYC... because their water is pumped in from the Adarondak mountains in norther New York).

It should be completely fine to drink CLEAN drinking water in Morocco and bottled water (mostly from Casablanca) is also quite fine as well.

Much of the tap water is NOT safe for foreigners to drink. Terry, your family paid for it and it was filtered so I am NOT talking about that. Report It

When I was there they didn't even have water all day long because they were fixing the pipes in his town. Illness from the water and the flora that live within is the number one cause of illness to visitors. Report It

You can even get an infection from taking a shower in it! It might taste good Zelo but it doesn't mean it is safe for everyone! Report It

Tap Water

bottled water

buy bottled water!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You were lucky for a while because Moroccan water is highly contaminated. Drink bottled water.

I'd go with the bottled water. You have no idea what chemicals could be leaking into the water systems down there. Chemicals that your body might not be used to.

Bottled water!, unless you want Montezuma revenge, No place in Morocco should you drink tap

Hm..if I was visiting Morocco, I would buy the bottled water, just to be safe.

But I think, other people are used to different kinds of water, so if like someone you know goes up to Morocco, and they're from far away, they'll probably not be used to the water. Because believe me, I have relatives wanting to boil the water from where I live, when they visit us, because twelve hours away from where I live, they live there, and their water, apparently tastes different.

its pretty good that you didn't get sick or anything because. it is not recommended that you drink any kind of water if your visiting a certain country or state in another country other than the one the country you came from.

any kind of like soda should work best. try bottled water if you want. it sounds cleaner. i got sick due to drinking water from a different country. so i recommend a soda or something

During my recent trip to Morocco I drank the tap water in the cities I visited and had no problems. I did prefer the taste of bottled water and drank it 95%of the time. Before my visit I always drank iced tea, but have become addicted to water now. I've had less stomach problems and less heartburn since I stopped drinking tea.

Bottled water only like my fiance's family who live in Morocco.

Tap water in the cities, well water in the farms in the country side, it's all good.
Even if morocco is third world country, the tap water is drinkable unlike in Los angeles or in mexico city.

I only drink bottled because I prefer the taste (or what I perceive as lack of taste lol). I will drink tap if it is the only thing available and I don't have a problem but I've lived here a while now. The first time I came to Morocco I did get sick from it.
Different cities have different water filtration systems and there is one city near Agadir that everyone knows not to drink the tap water. I think it is normal to get a little sick form water when you go to a country that is new to you. There are different flora and such in water that it is just normal to get a bit sick.

Bottled water and I still got horribly ill -- but I have read that it happens a lot from the meat.

Edit: Lou!!! Sidi Ali ROCKS....yum yum

Bottled, and Sidi Ali only!!!
