Do they ever empty out the basin at the Menara?

When I was there we were going to go after our carriage ride but everywhere we went on the way people kept telling us it was temporarirly closed so they could empty out the basin. I didn't believe it - I thought they were all joking with us. But we never went to find out because we didn't want to waste the time if it was closed. Do they actually do this?

Well why do I even ask if that is what you mean because if that is what you mean I still don't know the answer. I want to go this week with my mom and dad inshaAllah. I am going to ask if we do go.....I'll let you know inshaAllah.

EDIT: They will be here on Tuesday inshaAllah! They fly out of Miami tomorrow, arrive Marrakech Tuesday inshaAllah!
