Who loves henna?

I do! I do!

Some fun henna links...

How long was the longest it took for you to get henna done?
It took 3 hours to do my hands and feet when I got engaged. In America I never get a lot of henna done so it never takes as long.

They put gasoline in mine. Personally, I use essential oils.

I absolutely love henna and love Kenzi's henna work! She is a great henna artist and quite nice.

I do henna on myself all the time so it takes me about 30-45 mins depending on how much I put on myself. Usually brides are at least 2-4 hours sometimes more.

I have not had henna done to me I only saw henna stands at like an amusement park that takes like a half hour or maybe less
It looks cool though

I got it once, it took about 45 minutes to make, but it wasnt a big design.
I love the links though! I have been trying to find cool designs and the sites you just posted have all I wanted...
Thanks!
Wow, 3 hrs its a long time... I bet it was gorgeous once it was dry and ready!

Thanks for the links. I love henna but I don't like to wait for it to dry. As you may know, some women here in Al-Mahgrib mix dulio(paint thinner) in the henna. I know that some women put it but I failed to ask this one women who put it for me. I tried to make the henna dry quicker by placing my hands above a lit stove................YIKES the flames reached my palms ......... Alhamdulilah I wasn't burned.

I LOVE how henna looks when it's dry and the paste comes off, but the drying process is annoying and takes too long. I always want to scratch it off because it itches so much!

My wedding henna (hands and feet) took 3 or 4 hours to do and was absolutely beautiful. I don't get it done in the States because I don't trust anybody here to do it! LOL I only want the experts in Morocco to do it.

I have one permanent tattoo, but never tried henna. It is one of the things I'm looking forward to the most when I get married in Morocco in a few months. I've heard that the person applying it can even write the fiance's name within the designs and that many women have that included.

I do I do!!

Gasoline??? 8-o
What on earth??

I use strong tea, honey, lemon juice and eucalyptus essential oil when I have some. It really gives a good stain! My only problem is finding a good material to make the cones. Been a while since I've done it but I have two boxes of powdered henna that I should probably use before they go bad... Hmm, thanks for reminding me sis!

I do too! I do too!

Love it. I think the longest has only been maybe one hour or a little more. It was backs and palms of hands and tops of feet, I was going to my sil's wedding. I didn't get married here so I have never sat for a proper 'getting' hitched' application.

I only let them use the natural with tea, oil and lemon juice. My mother in law got burned quite badly with some 'rogue' lol henna. My suggestion...don't ever let them use the black. This is the one they usually add chemicals into. OUCH!

i LOVE henna....especially at weddings!! i can even put henna on myself.....i took some classes...how long was the longest? well....we usually put it on before we go to sleep and then leave it on until we wake up....or early in the morning..it does take a while for it to dry..lol...

i love it

I love henna! Every time I am in Morocco my mother in law calls someone to do henna on me at the house before I leave. I guess she is just happy that I like so much since most young Moroccan men and women I know try to avoid it since they hate the smell. I am lucky it doesn't really bother my husband that much either!
It never bothered me, well last year it did a bit probably because I was pregnant with the twins and a bit more sensitive. Anyway, last month my brother in law came to visit and brought tons of henna and those stencils...we should have a henna party in my house :-)

Ohh I loved getting Henna done.

I have only done it once when I was in Morocco. It took 4 hours, they did both my hands and feet. (I didn't like the way it looked on the bottom of my foot) But, we did take a dinner break when I was getting it done. They also kept mine on all night, with nylons over my hands and legs. Going to the restroom in the middle of the night was very interesting. They put lemon juice on mine, rather then gasoline. I am glad they used lemon, I don't know what I would have said if they put gas on me.

I would want to do it again, but it is hard with kids around. I don't know if I could sit for more then an hour without getting bothered by Selma.

When my friend was pregnant, just before she gave birth, she got Henna done on her tummy. It looked pretty neat.

i know i am a guy and all,, and this is a question for the girls... no dont even think about it...i did not put henna on my hands... that is not why i am answering...

even though i am from the middle east and many people including family put henna, i personally do not like it, i dont know why.. i mean dont thumb me down, it is just that i never found it impressive or cool, i dont know why, i just dont like it...

just an opinion

Have only used it on my hair and not hands or feet ....not yet anyway :) It does condition the scalp nicely but unless your hair is black you really need other natural ingredients to tone down the red, such as coffee. Its good to keep the dandruff away.

I love henna, I always wear it for eid, or if I am going to a wedding or something, They are very beautiful. It takes long for it to reveal a nice coulor lol.hope this helps.xxx

I like it too. Once i had it on my hair, black henna. It had to stay all night.I could clean it in the morning.

I love henna. I don't know how to do it, but my friend does it very good.
But about that recipe, I mean, I've heard that this is dangerous for skin.

I do.

yes,i like henna very much....but i dont know how to make design...as i use my own design which i like:-)

They use Henna in Morocco. I thought only Hindus in India did it for weddings, I am wondering If Indians got this tradition from the middle east. In India I think they also hide the name of the Groom in between all the designs on the hand of the bride. The Groom is supposed to find his name or else he can't take the bride on the honey moon.

i do,i love it,never had it done but think it is the best.maybe i can get these toes covered,LOL

I love henna! I'm learning to do it myself (I have all the tools and a good steady hand but never realized how difficult using the syringe would be!) so I can do it for my friends in the States.

The longest the application ever took was three hours - but she didn't mix it well because even though I kept it on overnight, it faded within two weeks (usually it stays on my pale skin over a month).

The only thing I hate is having the bottom of my feet covered in it (or getting it on my toenails). I don't let them touch the bottoms of my feet anymore.
