Moroccans- do you like your tea with or without mint?

The mint upsets my acid reflux so I love it without the mint. I am a strange one though, I love it without sugar too (I am diabetic) My husband's family makes a special teapot just for me sans sugar. I am loved. :-)

Well you know I am not Moroccan but I like to tell you my opinion anyhow!
First I will tell you that I like mint (using a few leaves of peppermint and of course the spearmint). I also like plain and some days I like sheba. If I am in America I like a tea bag of Celestial Seasonings Chai, lol.
Second I will disagree with Zelo brother 100% in saying that Moroccan tea IS MINT tea because it isn't. "Moroccan tea" is really just how it is made. The loose leaf or gunpowder, harvested in China, green tea. The process of making the pot of tea also is what makes it Moroccan. Whether it has mint, sheba or nothing in it is irrelevant really.

Lastly, lol, I am sure you already know this since you're the diabetic but I'll say it anyhow. Non sugar sweetners are not okay for diabetics.

Not Moroccan but --I like it with mint but can have it without and without sugar too. My Moroccan can have it either way too.

It's odd it gives you acid reflux but it is supposed to calm your stomach. lol Have you tried it with a different variety of mint or lemon verbena or chamomile or something else?

Good to see you here Terry G.

i love my tea with mint, specially the one that comes from marrakech, and there's another kind from the tamaris beach area..mmmm...bess茅ha!! :)

I am not morrocn I am Egyptian but i like tea with mint AND sugar, not a lot of sugar though.

Moroccan tea is a type of tea (or rather a recipe of how to make tea).

With or without mint is asking if you like 'regular' tea (black or green) or Moroccan tea (sugar/tea/mint).

I love Moroccan tea extra sugar but I also like a good green tea with a twist of orange but not when I am in Morocco. When in Morocco do as the Moroccans do.

As for the diabetes... I have noticed more and more there are more types of non-sugar sweeteners coming on the market much like we have in the US... although I have not tried them in tea I have tried diabetic cookies (if I may call them that) and they taste great.

with mint tastes better to me and that's the way i've always drank it. but i guess you could do whatever you wanted to.
