How many of you have been in a toilet in Morocco without T.P. or water/bidet available?

After reading an answer to another question I know I am not alone! The thing is I also had to PAY for it!!! It was horrible. Esp. if you get sick there... :P I think they could actually increase tourism if they had a toilet campaign. lol They don't have to install western toilets if they don't want to (I do know that squatting is natural) but at least give us some cleaning options afterwards! I have already begun to 'stock up' on little travel rolls of charmin I saw at walgreens for 99 cents for the next time I go. I pick one up every now and then when I am there. I think it would be a good thing since so many ppl I know who went there got sick and then had to PAY for an unclean toilet experience....often! Maybe they are trying to rip us off?!

I wanted to tell this one bathroom attendent that I was going to refuse to pay! But I didn't have the words to say it...

I usually carry tissue with me (like kleenex) but I left my bag with my mother-in-law and didn't realize until it was too late. LOL

ROFLLLLLLLLLLLLLL After the first time, I never left the house without tissues in my pocket. My husband and I always stop at the door and look at each other... we know without words we are checking to be sure we both have tissue! :-)

Toilet paper costs money (as do toilet facilities).
And, pepto bismol is your friend.

When I was there, I brought tissue with me everywhere I went (as all the travel books I looked at suggested). Yeah, the toilets weren't what I was used to, but that's always part of the fun when traveling.

Wow, that sounds very bad. I think they want money so they do that, a lot of people like clean bathrooms, so thats y they did it i think.

LOL, of course!!!
When I am going to an area that I think will be like this or when I am traveling I have learned to carry my own toilet paper and a 1/2 liter of tap water just in case!
If you ask you can usually get some water.

When you find a place that doesn't have water or a tap in the bathroom stall doesn't it make you wonder if the people who work there, and don't give you water, pray?

P.S. it is 113潞 today in Agadir

Broads should always carry their own tp when traveling abroad.

But to answer your question, I've never been IN a toilet ever.
I usually put stuff in them, but never am in them.

Ummm, how do you flush in a situation like that?

I wouldn't have even thought of taking paper even if a book told me. Since it is a Muslim country I would assume water would always be available.

That stinks.

Tell me about it! Also, are they against washing their hands afterwards!?!?!? It's hard to find a sink, and when you ask about one they look at you like you're mad!

I've been to someplaces where they will charge you an entrance fee to the bathroom. They are supposed to give you TP. Part of the fee also goes to the upkeep of the bathroom, but more often than not, the bathroom is filthy.

Baby wipes and sanitizing gel are excellent travel resources. The wipes come in a plastic bag so it's no biggie if they get wet.

Wow!! This one is funny to read about but frustrating when it happens. I was without TP in one bathroom, but I always carry kleenex with me when I go out so I was lucky. They had water but no soap or paper towels. Glad I had my kleenex, lol. The people I have met are very clean, so this confused me, but, it takes all kinds I guess.

I have been to places without paper but there has always been a bidet available to help me with some of that aweful pink sandpaper they call toilet paper.

i'm probably being the bad tourist because i take paper but never pay!!! although i have also discovered the small travel rolls of tp and they have saved me. the first time i saw a "squatting" style stall i thought i accidentally walked into the mens room. for all the money they put into tourism in morocco, you'd think they would invest in real toilets! Let's start a toilet campaign. Maybe Charmin would sponsor us. :-))

no, here my bath roon has tp, water, & baby wips,

i know that one, that's true it's really disgusting.
